What is Autoimmune Diseases ?
Autoimmune diseases are conditions in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues and organs. This results in inflammation, tissue damage, and dysfunction. Some common examples of autoimmune diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, and Crohn’s disease. The exact cause of autoimmune diseases is not fully understood, but a combination of genetic and environmental factors is thought to play a role. There is currently no cure for autoimmune diseases, but treatments such as glucocorticoids and other medications, can help manage symptoms and reduce the risk of tissue damage.
